I produced my first knife for Hathaway Knives in 2019, but the process started almost two decades before as a draftsman finding simple solutions to detailed problems. Over the years I learned to remake the world around me through building and machining for technologically progressive companies in my hometown of Casper, Wyoming.
The first blade I made was by hand with a charcoal forge I built for myself. My uncle gave me a piece of train-track to hammer on and I found a piece of steel in a field that eventually became a blade. Because of my Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis I knew that I couldn’t keep that pace every day but I knew I could use my skills as a machinist and my passion for making knives to make a great knife here in the USA.
